Message From the Coach:Lloyd Kakepetum
This year we are attending the Sioux Broomball Tourney as Keewaywin
Thunder Birds in honor and memory of Norval Morriseau. Originally we had
wanted to form Copper Thunder Birds in honor of Norval Morriseau and have
as many of his grand children in the team but due to circumstances we were
unable to acheive that. As a result of this aspiration we formed a team
called Keewaywin Thunder Birds.
There is enough interest and players in Keewaywin to have 2 teams. The
roster selections was based on active players with previous attendance of
tournaments, practices and fund raising efforts. This was made notice to
the players before the Sandy Lake Tournament. The roster has more than
half of youth participants. Making this decision is not intended to
eliminate the icehawks name or team but rather to have more opportunity
for participation.
